Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Full Sewin.

A Full Sewin generally lasts six to ten weeks before a maintenance appointment. With careful at-home care and routine salon check-ins, the sew-in can remain secure up to three months while keeping your natural hair healthy.

When installed by a trained stylist using correct tension and quality wefts, a Full Sewin should not damage hair. Proper braiding technique, scheduled maintenance, and gentle care are essential to protect your scalp and natural strands.

A Full Sewin appointment at Design 25 Salon typically takes three to five hours, depending on hair length and density. This includes consultation, cleansing, braiding, sewing the wefts, precision cutting, and finishing styling for a seamless result.

Wait 48 to 72 hours before the first wash to let the wefts settle. After that, use gentle sulfate-free products, avoid heavy oils at the roots, and follow our styling recommendations to preserve the sew-in and natural hair.

We recommend maintenance visits every six to eight weeks for retightening and to prevent matting. Depending on hair growth and lifestyle, some clients schedule between eight and twelve weeks. Regular trims and conditioning extend the install's lifespan.

You can exercise with a Full Sewin, but tie hair back to reduce tension and friction. For swimming, protect hair with a swim cap and rinse thoroughly after exposure to chlorine or salt. More frequent checks may be needed if you swim often.
